Truly, I dont want to miss a month of life, but, I could live without the crazy-ness of paper signing, schedule juggling, eating on the run, late-nite lunch makin, doctor appointment keepin, stuff that comes with A new school year! Already the tidal wave of paper has begun its descent upon my head... and its just beginning. Gone is the free time where I was bored, trying to figure out what to do today. Dance, footy and baseball, too are just three of the commitments we've signed up for. Hopefully there will be some time for relaxing inbetween and not lazy relaxing with junk food eating, but workouts and healthy mind stuff too.
THANKFULLY, my 4th graders are the sweetest bunch this year! There will be no dean visits, or meetings with the superintendent and principal. I probably won't even need the instant copy teacher note pads I bought in bulk... last year I needed them everyday!!! (I feel sorry for the fifth grade teachers who inherited those kids) )I also have a student teacher who really could take over at any time, she is so motivated and capable.
Our last month of summer was pretty busy. Football started Aug 1st, twice a week. We had to turn in our Freestar and look for a replacement. Katie got her braces adjusted and now her teeth are starting to move in the right direction! We went to Cape May... stressful and fun (long story)
and Katie had middle-school orientation. Brian had a lot of sleepovers with his pal Eddie C. Sean tagged along as much as Brian would allow.
Sean made a huge decision to play football again this year..he was very nervous about telling us! He said he felt naseous while thinking about it, but he finally came out of the office(with Brian by his side) and announced the big news!! Then we went crazy and clapped and hugged him! Since then, Brian has been really sweet about helping Sean get ready for practice. Tying his cleats and strapping his shoulder pads the right way. Its going to be good for Sean to make friends with the kids on his team and have his own thing going on. He's been hanging on Brian too much and he needs to branch out a bit. This summer, Sean had zero playdates with his classmates and I sometimes worry if he'll ever connect with kids his age. He sure looks awesome in his equipment, though!! Very solid and tough!
First day of school for the kids today... Once again, I couldn't be there but Bobby took pictures for me! I called them just as they were about to go in. It's not really stressful for them at all!!! Not so much for me anymore either. Katie went to middle school... she walked with her friends, Jena and Marissa. I cant believe it! She's so independent now (well she always has been) but she still needed me to pick her up at the end of the day because her new shoes gave her blisters and she couldnt walk home! She's still my perfect angel. :)
